This Week at the Library (Feb 23-28)
Does the unseasonably warm weather and bright sunshine have you itching to get outside? We have several gardening programs coming up for those of you who want to get a jump start on the growing season. On Tuesday, the Shadle Library will have Propagation from Seeds and Cuttings at 6, and on Saturday the Hillyard Library will have Get in the Garden: Vegetabale Gardening at 1.
Our Tween Craft Club was even garden-themed this month. Know any 5th to 8th grade students? Send them to the East Side Library Friday at 4 to make Duct Tape Roses.
On Saturday the South Hill Library will play Akeelah and the Bee at 2. Bees are outdoorsy, right? Ok, so that was kind of a stretch because the movie isn’t about THAT kind of bees. But we hope you’ll swing by to see the movie as Black History Month comes to an end. Finally, the last week of February is National Engineer’s Week, so we are celebrating with paper air planes! All branches will provide paper, directions (or you could free style your own creation) and even a runway to see how far your aircraft flies.
In addition to these programs, the library always has story times, and we are currently offering tax preparation. To see if you qualify, check this out. Our calendar is here to find out more information about any programs listed above.
