Back in early 2011, the Library collaborated with TinCan on a Federal Stimulus Grant which provided high definition video equipment among other things. We are pleased to announce that the equipment is now available for individuals to check out.
Each camera bag includes an HD video camera, shotgun microphone, Pixela software and corresponding cables. Also available are wireless microphones, tripods, and boom poles for the shotgun microphones.
They can be reserved through the reference desk and picked up at the circulation desk. Please allow at least 48 hours to ensure that the camera battery is charged. Right now the camera kits are available at the Downtown Library, but soon you'll be able to check them out from all library locations. You will be required to sign an agreement form the first time you check out the equipment and show your library card and photo ID.
The 2011 grant also provided the Adobe software suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and more). That software is currently available in the Downtown computer lab and will be available later this summer on the internet computers at all the libraries.Call the library with questions or if you want to reserve a camera kit – 444-5336.
