Hillyard Seed Library

The Hillyard Seed Library has edible and non-edible seeds in both hybrid and heirloom varieties.  Customers may check out up to 6 packs of seeds that produce edible plants marked with an E and up to 6 packs of seeds that produce non-edible ornamental plants marked with a B.  If the packet is marked heirloom, grow it, enjoy it, then save the seeds and bring some of them back to the library to be shared in the next growing season.  If the packet is marked hybrid, grow it, enjoy it, and compost what is left as hybrid seeds are not good candidates for saving.

And of course, the library has many books on gardening and saving seeds.
