Did you know you can attend courses from Stanford, Yale, or Princeton Universities for free? You can if you participate in their MOOCs – or Massive Open Online Courses. MOOCs are online courses on a wide variety of topics – from humanities to science to business and computers. You can listen to lectures, test your knowledge, get feedback, and communicate with other students. Three of the biggest providers are Coursera (with a wide variety of university partners), edX (from Harvard, MIT, Berkeley, and others), and Udacity (from Stanford University). Find more listings from TechnoDuet, or read more about the background and educational implications of MOOCs in The New Yorker or Educause.
