Health Magazines & Journals

Many medical journals and publications are available on the Internet. Some of these offer the full text of the publication while others may offer only an abstract or summary. Some medical journals on the Internet are only available only to subscribers  while some are available free of charge but require free registration.

  • JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) provides some full-text articles from more recent issues. Abstracts and citations of articles from JAMA are available from 1995 to the present.

  • Medline is the periodical database from the National Library of Medicine. This is a free service that does not require registration. Medline offers abstracts (summaries) of articles and not the full-text of the article. Please note that Spokane Public Library does not subscribe to most of the periodicals that are listed on Medline.
