You do not need a library card or a reservation for access to government websites.  All .gov websites are accessible from any Catalog Computer in all Spokane City Libraries.  

Federal Law

  • Federal Digital System (FDsys):   official versions of bills, laws, Congressional documents, the Statutes at Large,and the United States Code Online.
  •  Annual Credit Reports - the Federal Trade Commission provides information about and a link to annualcreditreport.com, the only authorized online source to get a free credit report under Federal law.
  • THOMAS: Congressional documents, laws, and bills currently under consideration in Congress.
  • United States Legislative Branch:links to Congressional E-Mail Directories, Roll Call Votes, Special Interest Group ratings, and more.
  • United States Senate homepage.
  • United States House of Representatives homepage.
  • United States Code: the laws of the United States.   Bound volumes are in Reference at the Downtown Library.   R 348.7323 UNITED.
  • United States Code Online is provided by the House of Representatives Internet Law Library.

Federal Register (1974 - the present) is on microfiche in the Reference Department.

  • Regulations.gov:  find, review, and submit comments on documents that are open for comment and published in the Federal Register.
  • e-CFR:  the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations is an often updated demonstration project. This is not an official legal edition of the CFR.
  • Official documents and information such as the Federal Register can be found on the Federal Digital System (FDsys)
