Branches: Downtown - Special Collections
The following is a list of our special collections at the Downtown Branch.
- Business Collection - books on starting a business, including statistics and business plans, business directories, and local business journals. This is a reference collection that must be used in the library. Find online sources in our Find the Best Business Resources guide
- Consumer Table - includes the past few years of Consumer Reports, including the yearly Buying Guide, various automobile buying guides, and insurance guides. This is a reference collection that must be used in the library. We also list online consumer resources
- Education Collection - includes directories and descriptions of technical, two- and four-year colleges, and graduate schools. Find scholarship information here as well. This is a reference collection that must be used in the library. The library also features online educational resources and scholarship information
- Funding Collection - provides information on grant writing, grant resources and nonprofit management. This is a reference collection that must be used in the library. See our Fundraising Resources page for more information
- Genealogy Collection
- Government Documents Collections - features documents from Spokane City and County, Washington State, and the United States Government. These are reference collections that must be used in the library. Many of these can be found through our online Government Resources, also
- Green Spokane Collection - a collection of books and media on sustainability and environmental issues. These items can be checked out. Find the Best Sustainability Resources online, also
- Northwest History Room
- Telephone Books - a small collection of Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana phone books. This is a reference collection that must be used in the library. See our online directories, also
- Topographical Maps - a selection of Washington and Idaho topographical maps. This is a reference collection that must be used in the library
- Travel Vertical File - pamphlets, maps, and brochures from all 50 states and most foreign countries on travel, events, and sometimes history and culture. These items can be checked out. See our Geography Resources for online options
