Summer Reading @ the Library!



This summer we're celebrating stories from places both near and far! While our special programs have ended, there's still time to complete you Summer Reading Log and get a free book. Sign up online or @ your library and keep track of your books. When you finish 15 books or read for 15 hours, you can pick out a book from our summer reading giveaway book supply (generously provided by the Friends of Spokane Public Library). Be sure to turn in your Summer Reading Log by Saturday, September 3!


All programs are free and (except the Teen program) appropriate for school-aged children. For more information, call 444-5331.

Artist or Mathematician

You can be both, and learn some fun facts about India at the same time. Sree Nandagopal will show you how to use your math skills to create beautiful art. She will also demonstrate how to wear a saree and teach us a South Indian folk dance. This program will be held at the following locations, dates, and times.

Craft Extravaganza!

It's like a potluck for crafts--you can sample the many crafts we've done in the last few years and find one with the flavor that suits you. We supply a wide variety of materials,  you bring the creativity. This program will be held at the following location, date, and time.

Dick Frost - Magic!

Illusions (the art of magic or conjuring) have been in practice for as long as people can remember. And from cultures all over the world! Veteran performer Dick Frost is an excellent showman with tricks that always amaze and amuse. This program will be held at the following locations, dates, and times.

Drums! - Spokane Taiko

Spokane Taiko brings the exciting art of Japanese drumming to libraries near you. A finely tuned kumi-daiko (Taiko drum ensemble) exercises the members' physical stamina, focus, and cooperation for a truly impressive sight and sound!
