Thanks for your interest in supporting the Library. Your support is integral to the vitality of the library. Whether you’re able to help with volunteering,donating books, donating funds or by voicing your support with the Mayor and City Council – it’s all important. Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library support the library with their annual book sales and bookstore, BuY the Book, in the lobby of the Downtown Library. You can join the Friends of the Library, donate materials for the sale or volunteer with them - Learn More here.

Spokane Public Library Foundation / Donating Money to the Library

The Spokane Public Library Foundation seeks to enhance public funds with private dollars to ensure continued excellence in Library services for the Spokane Community. 

All monetary donations should be directed to the Spokane Public Library Foundation.  There are donation boxes at the check-out desks in all the libraries for cash donations.  Checks should be made payable to the SPL Foundation.  The Foundation invests all donations in an endowment for long-term benefit to the library.  This is important so that your donation can be useful for many years to come. Contact the Mayor and City Council

The Spokane Public Library is a general fund department. This means that our budget is part of the city's general fund and is set by the Mayor and approved by City Council. When you let the Mayor and City Council members know how important the library is to you it helps support our budget.
