Electronic Tools

Spokane Public Library subscribes to several electronic reference sources that can be a big help as you work on school reports and special projects. To activate these tools you may have to type in your library card number as well as your personal identification number (PIN). Have both of them ready.


CultureGrams - Fact sheets on countries and states

eLibrary - an easy-to-search magazine and newspaper database for students which includes images, audiovisual materials, and television news transcripts

 

Information Please - facts on thousands of subjects including sports, entertainment, science and technology, business, education, and health


Novelist K-8 Plus - for new readers up to teens, find fiction and nonfiction books and audiobooks by title, plot, keyword or author.  Find award winners, book recommendations, and teacher resources, also


ProQuest Learning: Literature - provides more than 180,000 full-text works of poetry, prose, and drama from around the world, as well as secondary sources such as author biographies, literary criticisms, essays, reviews, and interviews


SIRS Discoverer - young students will find everything they need to complete assignments and learn more about their favorite topics, including a science fair explorer, The World Almanac for Kids, biographies, and country facts
