Eastern Washington Genealogical Society - Collection and services based here at the Spokane Public Library.


Idaho State Historical Society- Research library and archives located in Boise, Idaho, which includes the Idaho State archives.


Montana State Genealogical Society -Has a list of all local genealogical societies in Montana State.


Montana State Historical Society- Museum and research library in Helena, Montana, which includes the Montana State Archives.


National Genealogical Society - Based in Arlington, Virginia.

FindAGrave-  Maintained by volunteers, this site allows you to search by name, cemetery or memorial number.  A great resource when you've tried everything else.  


Global Gazetter - Lookup countries, cities, and airports and obtain topographic maps, weather data,and selected satellite imagery.


Government Land Office Records -Provides live access to Federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States. We also provide image access to more than two million Federal land title records for Eastern Public Land States, issued between 1820 and 1908. Images of Serial patents (land titles issued between 1908 and the mid-1960's) are currently being added to this web site.

Making of America - A digital library pf primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction.


Ned M. Barnes Northwest Room Digital Collection - a digital collections page of photographs selected from collections in the Northwest Room. These collections emphasize the most frequently requested subjects in the Northwest Room – the homes, buildings, streets and activities in and around Spokane. The original items are available for use and study in the Ned M. Barnes Northwest Room of Spokane Public Library.


New England Historical Genealogical Society  - This database covers many northeastern states with a heavy emphasis on Massachusetts up to 1910.  Available only in the Spokane Public Library buildings.


Searching Passenger Lists - Includes Ellis Island and Castle Garden in one step.


Social Security Death Index -Provided for free by FamilySearch.  This database has a two to three month gap after a death and before the web site is updated.


Soldiers and Sailors System - Index of Civil War military personnel.


University of Washington Libraries Digital Collection - Collections are primarily pictorial, although some have accompanying essays and text.  Other media are presented, such as newspapers, reports, pamphlets, posters, and maps.  The emphasis of these collections is on rare and unique materials.


U.S. Gazetteer - Find any town in the United States.


USGS Maps - Find any geographic feature in the United States.


Washington Place Names - Provided by the Tacoma Public Library, this site provides names of towns, rivers,streams, mountains and other locations in Washington State.
