Services: Go Wireless @ the Library
Free wireless Internet access is available at all Spokane Public Library branches. Just bring your laptop or other device with a wireless network adapter to the Library.
Get Started:
Connect your wireless device to the Library’s wireless network. The SSID (network name) is LibraryWireless. Refer to the documentation that came with your wireless device for details on how to do this. You will need to open your internet browser and agree to the Terms & Conditions before proceeding.

Wireless Printing:
Printing is available for laptops or personal computers by downloading a program that will add a Spokane Public Library Printer to your printer list. Printing is in black and white and costs 10 cents per page. Printing is available at all branches.
Important Notice: If you installed the print software prior to May 09, 2013 please delete the Spokane Public Library printer from your system, then download and install a new printer using the links provided below.
Installing the print software for Windows:
- Download and run the installer program
- If a User Account Control message appears, click Yes to install the print software. You may need to override security warnings to install
- Click Install to begin the installation. Click Finish when the installation completes
- You should now have a printer on your system called Spokane Public Library Printer
Installing the print software for Mac computers (NOT iPads, iPods, etc.):
- Download and run the installer program
- Follow the onscreen prompts
- You should now have a print queue called Spokane Public Library
- To completely remove the software and this print queue from your system, run the Uninstaller.app, located in /Library/Application Support/Pharos/Utilities/
Printing to the library's printers:
- To print to the library's public printers, simply send your document to the Spokane Public Library Printer created above
- A window will appear asking for a username and password to assign to this print job. Please choose something easy to remember, since you will need to re-enter this information to retrieve your print job
- Go to any print station in any branch to locate and print your job. Your print job will remain available on the library's print stations for 12 hours

Wireless Tips:
- Use of these access points is governed by the library’s Internet Use Policy and Rules of Conduct
- A standard IEEE 802.11b, g, or n wireless network adapter should work with our wireless connection
- Free access to the library’s subscription databases is allowed through our wireless network. Click on Research for a list of databases
- All wireless access users should have up-to-date virus protection on their laptop computers or wireless devices
- As with most public wireless “hot spots,” this connection is not secure. Potentially any information being sent or received could be intercepted by another wireless user. Please take appropriate precautions when using this service
- Library staff are not responsible for any changes you make to your computer’s settings and cannot guarantee your hardware will work with our wireless connection. They cannot assist in making changes to your network settings or perform any troubleshooting on your computer. Please refer to your owner’s manual or other support services offered by your device manufacturer
