Back to School with the Library

In the hustle and bustle of “back to school”, don’t forget to take inventory of the great, FREE resources the library can offer students AND teachers throughout the year! And before you read further, you need to know that all SPS students have Spokane Public Library access with their student ID. The library card number is 27413081 + the student ID number, the PIN is the student’s birthday (MMDD). For students outside of District 81, you can sign up for a free Spokane Public Library card any time if you live in the area!

What resources can students access for free? For any topic you may be studying, we have the best databases for your to peruse. Use your library card number and PIN to access each of these for free!

  • Brainfuse HelpNow Tutoring
    • Find live tutors in math, science, reading, and more.
    • Submit essays to the Writing Lab for constructive feedback.
    • Submit homework questions for guidance.
    • Adult Learning Center for GED resources, resume writing, U.S. Citizenship prep, and more.

    • Elementary: Find age-appropriate resources for curriculum-related content.
    • Global Issues: Discover international viewpoints on a spectrum of global issues and current events.

Events for Kids & Teens

Not only are we an educational hub, but we have great social resources, too! For elementary kids, we have a variety of fun events in art, sustainability, STEM, and more. For middle and high schoolers, we have a Discord channel to connect teens in the community and we offer age-appropriate programs like Anime Club, Virtual Reality, Cozy Hangout, and so much more.
