INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

Volunteers provide essential support for Library functions and keeping the libraries and materials clean and inviting. All Library volunteers must be at least 18 years of age (some assignments may have a higher age limit), dependable, and must successfully complete any Library training and subsequent evaluations.

  • WHAT DOES ESSENTIAL SUPPORT LOOK LIKE?

    DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION…

    • Preparing Friends of the Library book donations
    • Shelving materials; organizing in alphanumerical order
    • Retrieving library materials
    • Special projects as needed
    • Light cleaning: Clearing tables, shelves, or desk tops of materials left by customers
    • Cleaning book jackets

Yes! Keep in mind that because there is a training period, the hours must exceed that amount of time.

Yes. The Spokane Public Library requires background checks for all adult (18+) volunteers working with staff and customers at any library location or offsite on behalf of the Spokane Public Library.
