KYRS THIN AIR Community RADIO

Located prominently in Central Library’s Media Studios on the 3rd floor next to nxʷyxʷyetkʷ Hall, KYRS Thin Air Community Radio embodies a commitment to community. Established in 2003 as a low-power station and later expanding to full power in 2007, KYRS serves diverse audiences across the region, advocating for social, economic, and environmental justice through programs that promote human rights, multiculturalism, and local arts.

Partnering with Spokane Public Library since 2023, KYRS operates 24/7 from Central Library, offering a platform for local voices on issues ranging from environment and health to LGBTQIA+ rights. This collaboration has transformed Central Library into a hub for innovation and community engagement, hosting lectures, seminars, and recording facilities that amplify diverse perspectives and music genres, enriching the cultural fabric of the Inland Northwest.
