From birth to kindergarten is a pivotal time in a child’s growth and development. The library provides free access to resources, empowers parents and caregivers to connect with their children, and offers free and fun programming. Six of our library locations fun children’s playspaces are specially geared for our youngest visitors.
Sing songs, practice rhymes, and have fun at storytimes designed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers on their way into kindergarten. Check out the storytime schedule to know when you can practice your reading and literacy skills.
Enjoy unlimited children’s content on our streaming service Kanopy. Set the filter to “kids” to see a wide range of educational content including favorites like Sesame Street, Dinosaur Train, Reading Rainbow, and Molly of Denali.
Join the challenge to read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten to kickstart your little one on a lifelong love of learning. For every 200 books read, you can come into any library location to pick up a commemorative sticker. When you read the full 1,000 books, stop by for a free prize.
You can join the challenge on Beanstack or print off the tracking log. When joining on Beanstack, be sure to create a profile for your child.
Connect with your child at one of our children’s playspaces. Six custom children’s playspaces are located throughout the system, guaranteed to delight. Playspaces in libraries are associated with increases in caregiver and child conversation and interaction known to support language, literacy, and STEM skills.
