What is HOMAGO? Fun Events for Middle & High Schoolers

Ever heard of HOMAGO? Every Friday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, middle and high school students can join us in the Studio for HOMAGO Friday at Hillyard Library! HOMAGO is an acronym for Hanging Out, Messing Around, and Geeking Out. This type of programming is the result of the research of Mimi Ito, “a cultural anthropologist of digital culture and an advocate for connected learning.” Her research explores how youth learn in new social and media environments.

At Spokane Public Library, we believe that one of the most important things we can offer to our middle and high school patrons is a safe space to meet up with friends (and maybe make some new ones); where they can relax, learn, and hang out. Come as you are and participate in a variety of fun, drop-in activities. Some of the activities include board games, LEGOs, coloring books, dominos, and more.
