Friends of the Spokane Public Library

WHO ARE THE FRIENDS?

Friends of the Spokane Public Library is an all-volunteer group dedicated to providing more than $40,000 in funding to the Library annually including:

  • Supporting Summer Reading for kids and teens with programs and book giveaways
  • Supporting Spokane Is Reading, a program that brings a different author to town each year
  • Special equipment purchases (recent examples include AWE Early Learning Computer Stations for young children and Sensory Support kits)

SUPPORT THE FRIENDS

By purchasing a Friends of the Library membership, you are contributing to important programs and services for the community. Not only that, but you also get early access to the semi-annual book sale! Individual memberships start at $10 and family memberships are $15. Donations in any amount are welcome.

SEMI-ANNUAL BOOK SALES

The Friends of the Library hosts a semi-annual book sale in the spring and fall. Stock up on gently used fiction, nonfiction, children’s titles, and more.

Next Book Sale: April 25 – 27

Friends members get a first look at the selection at the member presale on April 25. Become a member at the door for only $10. On April 27, fill a bag with books for only $3 or a box for $6.

BUY THE BOOK

Buy inexpensive used books from the Friends of the Library and know that all the funds support Library programs and supplies. You’ll find books for sale on small shelves at each open Library location. Payment for these items is on the honor system. The Friends of the Library bookstore is located on the first floor of the Central Library.

Hours of Operation
