Central Library is located in the heart of downtown Spokane with a breathtaking view of the Spokane River & the Monroe Street Bridge.

After two years of renovations, the Central Library has been transformed into a citywide hub of innovative 21st century library services including:

CENTRAL LIBRARY HOURS*

SELF-SERVICE HOURS

We offer Self-Service Hours daily – a period of time where customers can check out books, access computers, use meeting rooms, and more with limited to no staff available. 

*Self-Service Hours Include:

  • Mon – Thurs: 9am – 10am and 5pm – 7pm
  • Fri – Sat: 10 – 11am
  • Sun: All day

If you require staff assistance, please visit outside of the above hours.

  • 300 person capacity nxʷyxʷyetkʷ Hall (pronounced: inn-whi-whi-ettk, a Salish word meaning Life in the Water)
  • 256 capacity combined event space on the 1st floor

TRANSPORTATION

  • Paid parking garage beneath building (enter on Spokane Falls Blvd) open during library hours
    • $2.88 per hour payable through ParkMobile: QR code, app, website

    • The entry ramp to the garage is closed 30 minutes prior to the library’s closing time. Customers must be out of the garage by close of business.

    • The parking garage clearance is 6’11”
