In Honor of Women’s History Month, Spokane Public Library has created the following booklist of recently published titles in our collection. It spotlights the stories of various women throughout history, here in our country and farther afield, Black, South Korean, Transgender, Muslim, Palestinian, and more. The stories shared here—difficult and triumphant both—are just a few of the many vibrant cells existing in the ever-expanding body of women’s history. Keep uplifting women’s stories—the more stories that are celebrated, the healthier our collective selfhood becomes.
Women deserve a voice. They deserve autonomy. They deserve self-actualization. They deserve to define themselves rather than be defined by the powers that be.
