The Spokane Public Library Board of Trustees seeks candidates to fill a vacancy on the board. The Board of Trustees is the governing and policy-making board for the Spokane Public Library. Board positions are voluntary, and residents chosen to fill them are selected to serve 5-year terms. Candidates must be available to meet monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm, as well as other infrequent committee meetings as needed.
We encourage applications from people who believe in the mission of the public library, are inspired to learn and articulate the Library’s vision, and who are familiar with our community. All applicants must live within Spokane city limits and have done so for at least one year. Women, BIPOC, veterans, LGBTQIA+, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
“Serving as a library trustee is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to a critical organization that serves all of Spokane,” Library Board President Lara Hemingway said. “The Library is growing and moving in new, exciting directions and the trustees have an important role in supporting that.”
Information about the Library and the Board of Trustees is available on the Spokane Public Library website.
