November 13-19 is Transgender Awareness Week, a time to bring awareness to and support the transgender community by providing a platform, sharing stories, experiences, and reflections of identity, and acknowledging the prejudice and adversity the community faces often.
On Saturday, November 19 at Central Library at 3pm, the Library, in partnership with Odyssey Youth Movement and Spectrum Center, the Library will host a Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil. Join us in remembering and honoring the trans and gender non-conforming individuals who lost their lives to transphobic violence in 2022. The Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual nationwide observance that honors the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
